About Revival Lingerie

Revival Lingerie is a family-owned Nottingham lingerie manufacturer with roots stretching back over half a century.

A Family Story That Began at the Races

While Revival itself is our most colourful and playful brand, our story begins long before it was created. It starts with a day at the races.

In 1943, Rebecca's grandparents attended the horse races and placed a bet on a horse called Pretty Form. When the horse won, they used their winnings to help establish their lingerie business. Rebecca's grandfather's middle name was David and her grandmother's maiden name was Silkstone, so the company became known as David Silkstone. The winning horse also inspired the name of their first lingerie brand: Pretty Form.

Over the decades, David Silkstone and Pretty Form became part of Nottingham's proud textile and lingerie manufacturing heritage, producing quality lingerie and corsetry with skill, care and craftsmanship.

Three Generations of Lingerie Manufacturing

The business was later passed to Rebecca's father and today Rebecca proudly continues the family tradition. As well as preserving the Pretty Form brand, she created Revival Lingerie for people who love the glamour of 1950s fashion but want something a little brighter and more playful.

What began as a family business has now spanned three generations, with the same commitment to quality, fit and British manufacturing at its heart.

Vintage Style with a Colourful Twist

When people think of vintage lingerie, they often picture practical shades of black, white and beige. While these colours were certainly common, life in Britain during and after the war years could be difficult and austere.

Revival takes inspiration from the optimism, femininity and fun of the era, creating lingerie with vintage-inspired silhouettes in cheerful colours and charming prints. We celebrate the glamour of the 1940s and 1950s while adding a little more colour to everyday life.

Proudly Made in Nottingham

All Revival Lingerie is proudly made in Nottingham, a city renowned for its rich textile and lace-making heritage.

In an industry where so much manufacturing has moved overseas, we remain committed to producing our garments locally, supporting British craftsmanship and maintaining the standards that have defined our family business for generations.

By keeping production close to home, we can oversee every stage of the manufacturing process and ensure the quality and attention to detail that our customers expect.

The Pretty Polly Connection

Visitors familiar with the famous British hosiery brand Pretty Polly sometimes wonder whether there is a connection to our Pretty Form brand.

Not directly: but there is an intriguing link.

Pretty Polly was named after the celebrated racehorse Pretty Polly, while the horse Pretty Form that inspired our own brand was one of her descendants. Two iconic names from the British lingerie and hosiery industry, both inspired by the same racing bloodline. It's a small world.

Revival Today

Today, Revival Lingerie continues to celebrate vintage glamour, British manufacturing and family tradition, bringing a little colour, confidence and pin-up style to wardrobes around the world.
