Our first influencer images since the Revival Lingerie relaunch have arrived, and longtime followers of the brand may recognise the woman wearing them.
Burlesque performer Miss Whiskey Twist modelled for Revival several times before the relaunch, and you can still see her throughout our site, making her very much part of the brand’s photographic history. We had hoped to arrange a new shoot with her ourselves this month, but our plans met an August diary that was already overflowing. Such is life behind the scenes of a small lingerie brand: there are always more garments, photographs and ideas than there are days in the week.
Fortunately, we haven’t had to wait quite as long as expected. Miss Whiskey Twist has been photographed in Revival by York based JM Photography, and the resulting images have given us the perfect opportunity to revisit one of our most playful collections.
Miss Whiskey Twist wears our exclusive Glamour print, a black novelty fabric covered with lipsticks, vintage mirrors, bras and blooming flowers. It is feminine without being delicate, colourful without being difficult to coordinate and more than a little cheeky; which makes it a rather natural match for Revival.
The collection contains five different pieces, all made in our family-run factory in Nottingham. The lightly padded cone bra creates the pointed bust line associated with 1950s fashions, with a stretch powernet back providing support and flexibility. It can be worn with the matching retro knickers, which combine the printed stretch fabric with a semi-sheer powernet back and a cotton gusset for everyday comfort.
For stocking wearers, the six-strap suspender belt has adjustable straps, metal clips and a secure hook-and-eye fastening at the back. Six straps provide more stability than the four commonly found on modern suspender belts, helping stocking seams remain where they belong rather than wandering around the leg before lunchtime.
There are also two Glamour print girdles. The shorter roll-on girdle uses a medium-weight stretch fabric to smooth the figure while remaining comfortable, with six adjustable suspender straps helping to keep both the girdle and stockings securely in place.
For stronger shaping and greater coverage, the high-waist pull-on girdle is made from firm-control, satin-finish elastane. Reinforced front panels smooth the tummy, while its higher cut helps create a continuous line beneath fitted dresses and skirts. It also has six adjustable metal-ended suspender straps, because practical construction needn’t interfere with a good cheesecake moment.
The timing of these new photographs could hardly have been better, as the Glamour collection has just been restocked. Not every wearer will want the same degree of shaping, so the range can be mixed according to how you prefer your lingerie to look and feel: bra and knickers for a lighter set, the suspender belt for secure stocking wear, or either girdle when a smoother vintage silhouette is called for.
It is wonderful to see Miss Whiskey Twist wearing Revival again, and we hope this will not be the last time. Our own reunion shoot may have slipped a little further down the calendar, but these photographs by Jessica Moses have given us a delicious preview in the meantime.
Explore the Glamour collection and choose precisely how much mischief; and how many suspender straps; you would like.
